The second round of MAP Fluency testing for grades K2-2 is set to begin Friday, December 13th. The schedule is attached to this link. December, 2019 Curley Cares Student Awards
The last Curley Cares assembly of 2019 will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Curley Cares awards are intended to reinforce positive student behaviors in support of the Curley Cares rules and the expectation/hope is that every Curley K8 student will earn at least one award each year. With this in mind PLEASE take a moment to recognize students who are doing their best to support the Curley Cares way. Please use the DECEMBER 2019 FORM to submit names in order for students your work with to receive an award at our Wednesday, December 18, 2019 Curley Shares assemblies. You can check out 1920_CurleyCares_StudentRecipients for a list of students who have already received Curley Cares awards this SY.

Fall Term Report Card Grading Window for Grades Gr. 1-8
The fall grading window for students in grades Gr. 1-8 is open from November 18 to December 8. Please refer to the materials below for instructions on entering grades.

Reminder: After entering or editing grades in the scores tab, teachers must click Post Grades to write the grades to the report cards. Grades will be saved as you enter them but they will not appear on the report cards until you click Post Grades.

ACCESS Testing
Staff, it is that time of year again to prepare for ACCESS: All teachers need to retrain for administering the test. You will need to log into to www.wida.us, read the information and take a quiz for each section you need to take. You must score at least 80% on the section in order to be certified to administer the test. All students Grade 1-8 will be taking the test on-line. Grades 1-3 will take the writing section on paper.
New Staff or those who did not take the training last year.
• You will need to create an account on www.wida.us using username Massachusetts, password patriot. Create an account and follow the steps below.

Winter Coat Drive
With temperatures continuing to drop, the guidance team is making finding each student a winter coat before the holiday break a priority. While the SPC coat drive is hugely helpful towards this aim, we recognize that the two students per class limit might make it difficult to meet our goal. We are therefore working with a community partner to accumulate additional coats.
If you have a student who might need a coat who has not already turned in a coat drive form, please add them to the Google doc below so that we are able to get him/her one!

The Behavior Intervention Monitoring Assessment System (BIMAS) is a measure of social, emotional and behavioral functioning in children and adolescents ages 5 to 18 years. It includes 34 change-sensitive items that are used for universal screening of behavioral health and for assessing response to intervention. Linked is the updated Powerpoint that will discussed in your CPT. Opt out letters will go out 10/17 and the window opens on 10/21. THE BIMAS COMPETITION IS ALSO BACK! - Fill out electronic form at least 2 weeks in advance. This link will be available in the blog daily. Field Trip Request Form
- Print your form submission.
- Email list of students attending to nurses.
- Get nurse and cafeteria signature at least 2 weeks in advance. They can sign anywhere at the bottom of your page.
- Turn in to either main office.
- Pass out permission slips and have students return. (English p.12, Other Languages)
- The SPC has allotted each grade level $500 to put towards field trips; any questions should be send to treasurer@curleyk8.com.
