11/2/15 Daily Bulletin

Shout Out

Shout out to all staff for their hard work in preparing our students for the PARCC assessment last spring. The unofficial data has been released and the Curley saw some positive gains! In ELA as a whole school we had an increase in CPI and SGP and in math we had an increase in CPI, SGP and Level 4 & 5 (formerly known as proficient and advanced)! In grades 3-5 ELA we had gains across the board which shows that their was a successful implementation of EL in just the first year! Grade 5 had above average growth scores in both ELA (69) and math (78.5). 6th grade had above average growth in ELA (63). 7th and 8th grade had math gains in CPI, SGP and Level 4 & 5 (formerly known as proficient and advanced)! You should all be proud of your hard work. Want to know how your current or former students performed? Check out the data here stored in the PARCC folder on our drive.

Thank you all very much for helping sustain this effort to recognize our students - your support is appreciated! You can fill it out in Google Forms.

Safety Plan

Please click on this LINK and complete the fields for any facilities concerns you may have in order to comply with the plan. It is important that everyone fills this in by Friday!

PARCC

Attached is information about accessing PARCC resources that are now available.  You will need to create an account for yourself in order to be able access and examine the material. Resources include released items from last year's PARCC PBA and EOY assessments, rubrics, and samples of student work for math and ELA. Resources also include wonderful formative "instructional tasks" for K2 - Grade 2 also for both math and ELA. There are many other resources there as well and we are just in the beginning stages of exploring them all. Regardless of what the state decides in terms of assessments, we know whatever assessment is chosen or created will need to be aligned with our standards, and all these resources will help us do just that. We hope you find the collection useful!
