Shout Out

Shout out to Ms. Taylor Knight, Ms. Prieto, Ms. Amy-Moreno and Ms. Ennis for taking our SEI students to the Boston Public Market on Friday October 30th. Our thanks to Donald Wiest for his generous support. These young learners were able to taste the many flavors at the Boston Public Market, learn about nutrition as well as sampling locally sourced foods. It was a wonderful trip. Math Club

Fliers should go home with student tomorrow about a new math club started by two parents for 2nd and 3rd graders. Please be sure to send it home in back packs.

Voting

Tomorrow is Election Day and the neighbors will vote in the Upper School Cafeteria. Please be sure to avoid the middle staircase by the main office when escorting students to lunch and specialty. Also all families who vote must enter through the voting entrance. With limited space in the upper school cafeteria on Election Day, we are asking that teachers please be timely in picking students up from lunch. Please note that there is a very small window of time between the start of one lunch and end of another lunch.

Middle School 1st Term Grading Window

The first term grading window is open from October 29th until November 12th at 11:59 p.m. If you have any questions or problems, please contact Adrian Ward-Jackson. Also grades close on Friday, November 6th.

Safety Plan

Please click on this LINK and complete the fields for any facilities concerns you may have in order to comply with the plan. It is important that everyone fills this in by Friday! We are working on a response to all of your questions and will get this to you by the end of the week!

School Climate

The Climate team will meet on Wednesday November 4th from 3:00pm - 4:15pm in room 212. We will also have our monthly staff social at 3pm on Friday at Canary Square. We hope you can join us!

PARCC

Attached is information about accessing PARCC resources that are now available.  You will need to create an account for yourself in order to be able access and examine the material. Resources include released items from last year's PARCC PBA and EOY assessments, rubrics, and samples of student work for math and ELA. Resources also include wonderful formative "instructional tasks" for K2 - Grade 2 also for both math and ELA. There are many other resources there as well and we are just in the beginning stages of exploring them all. Regardless of what the state decides in terms of assessments, we know whatever assessment is chosen or created will need to be aligned with our standards, and all these resources will help us do just that. We hope you find the collection useful!

Faculty Senate Meeting

On Wednesday November 4 at 730 in the lower school conference room we will have our  first Faculty Senate Meeting. Faculty Senate can be very instrumental in fostering collaborative work between educators, staff and administration.  There is going to be a Boston Teacher Union organizer to run the first meeting.  I hope everyone can make it. 

AWC Meeting

Thursday afternoon from 3pm-4pm Curley staff and families are welcome to a meeting to discuss AWC and hear about the most up to date information from the district level to assure that all students have opportunities and access.

Vision Screening

NEEI will be back Monday, November 16th to finish K1 & K2 vision screening and any students who were absent.
