Math Interim

Thank you for the feedback regarding the first math interim schedule. Field trips, ISEE, and Veteran's Day were added variables that added to the challenge of scheduling. As we move forward, we will be able to make more of the recommended changes. There have been updates made to some of the start times that were posted yesterday. Future interim testing window are posted each week in the blog, please reference that for future planning. Please let Dawn Durant know if you have any questions, ddurant2@bostonpublicschools.org.

November, 2019 Curley Cares Student Awards

The next Curley Cares assembly of the 2019-2020 school year will be held in Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Curley Cares awards are intended to reinforce positive student behaviors in support of the Curley Cares rules and the expectation/hope is that every Curley K8 student should earn at least one award each year.

Please use the NOVEMBER 2019 FORM to submit names in order for students your work with to receive an award at our Wednesday, November 20, 2019 Curley Shares assemblies. You can check out 1920_CurleyCares_StudentRecipients for a list of students who have already received Curley Cares awards this SY.

Family Engagement Plans

Thank you for the wonderful work you have been doing to share the excitement of your classrooms with our Curley families. We were impressed by the Family Engagement Plans that you wrote during our September PD, and it has been exciting to see those plans in action.
  • The School Site Council has asked for us to present your family engagement plans at our next meeting on 11/12. As you know, there was a lot of anxiety for families when we changed our pick-up and drop-off procedures, and your increased outreach efforts have been critical in helping families stay connected to your work in the classroom.
  • Please make sure that your plans are updated with anything [including links to materials, photos, etc!] that you want to share or revise by Friday, 11/8. Let me know if you have any questions - and thanks!

BIMAS is back!

The Behavior Intervention Monitoring Assessment System (BIMAS) is a measure of social, emotional and behavioral functioning in children and adolescents ages 5 to 18 years. It includes 34 change-sensitive items that are used for universal screening of behavioral health and for assessing response to intervention.  Linked is the updated Powerpoint that will discussed in your CPT. Opt out letters will go out 10/17 and the window opens on 10/21. THE BIMAS COMPETITION IS ALSO BACK! First two grades to 100% completion win a special breakfast from climate! Please reach out to Marquel Norton if you have any questions mnorton5@bostopublicschools.org.
