The Toyama Education Delegation will be visiting our school Wednesday from 9 -11. This group of Japanese educators and business leaders is traveling the Northeast to visit and learn about America's public schools. Amika has graciously agreed to act as tour guide. Between September 28 - October 6, 2015,
the TerraNova (3rd edition) in Reading and Mathematics will be given in grades
3, 4, and 5 to determine eligibility for AWC. Please direct all questions to David Diaz.
Summer Reading
Thank you to all the teachers who collected the summer reading calendars from students and submitted their names. We have many students who submitted
their summer reading calendar and they will be recognized. You will see our
Reader Leader bulletin boards in each building recognizing these students. Each
student will receive a free book as well as a bracelet that says Reader Leader. Please direct all questions to Caitlyn Gable and Eileen Cronin.
School Climate Team
The first meeting of the School Climate Team will take place on Wednesday at 3:00pm. The locations is TBD at this time. We are asking teams to send one representative to this meeting to speak on behalf of their grade level.
PD/Awards
Reminder that our first of 6 whole staff meetings will take place on Thursday from 3p-4pm. We are encouraging staff to nominate colleagues for Curley Cares awards by Monday at 4pm by clicking on this link.
Fire Drill
Thank you to the staff that provided feedback around the fire drill. Here are the new evacuation updates that are in effect moving forward. It is important that your evacuation route is posted in the classroom and that you have a system set up with class lists to take attendance once we are outside. The link in the handbook has been updated as well. Please contact David Diaz with any questions.
