Thank you for representing our school and voting on important school issues such as uniforms, budget, etc… We are excited to further collaborate with families to improve our school.

School Climate

Thank you for your participation in our first Curley Staff Share!  We are looking forward to our first round of Curley Shares for students on October 15th.
By October 15th you should:
  • Complete your planning template with your cross grade partner and put it in the Curley Shares Big/Little Plans folder on the drive
  • Get together with your buddy class for a meet and greet activity

Here is the schedule:

Beginning in November, Curley Shares will be held on the first Thursday of each month (11/5, 12/3, 1/7, 2/4, 3/3, 5/5, 6/2). The Climate Team and City Year will take care of the share portion for the first round of Curley Shares. Coordinate with your grade-level and class "buddies" and sign up for a share - a Google Doc sign up will be sent to you soon.

Win Block

Thanks for all your hard work in screening students in preparation for the upcoming WIN block. All assessment data is now due.  If you need support in completing this testing, or have questions about which students need to complete the WIST assessment, please contact Eileen immediately and we will work out a plan using resource room teachers and City Year corps member to support you.  We cannot prepare intervention rosters or order additional student materials unless we have complete data from each grade level.  Again, thanks for your help in completing this important task!

SSC

The first School Site Council (SSC) meeting will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29th from 5:30pm-7:00pm. This is a public meeting and all community members can attend, however only staff have been elected can vote on items.

Nurse Allocation

As of today we have increased out nursing allocation from 1.5FTE to 2.0 FTE. This means that Nurse Regan and Nurse Pumphret will both be here full time!!!!!! This is exciting and necessary to best support our students health. For now both nurses will work out of the same office so they can organize paperwork and get to know all students K-8. Any further changes will be communicated at a later time. Thank you to Norm Townsend, Maureen Starck and Karla Estrada for listening to our needs and caring about our school.

Open House

We have emailed families about Open House as well as send a Connect Ed Call. Please reach out to your students families and encourage them to attend on Thursday evening from 5pm-7pm. Some ways to communicate this to families is via email, phone call, reminder during pick up/drop off, include in your weekly letter to families, assign it as homework to have students tell their families etc…. The more ways we communicate the more families that will participate.

Windows

On Wednesday and Thursday this week we will have contractors in the building looking at our windows. They may be measuring, opening/closing and taking photos around the building. The work is scheduled to take place during the Summer 2016. However there is a lot of presswork that needs to happen before then. All contractors will have a cleared CORI and we ask that you let them enter your room. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask you to think about how great it will be to have new windows next year!!!
