Day One Reflections 

It was a great first day of school! Families were excited to see their child(ren) off to school and students enjoyed getting to know their new teachers and classmates. Despite the heat there was learning going on in each and every classroom I was able to visit. Today I was energized by the students’ smiles and excitement to return to school. I look forward to 179 more days of learning and fun!

School Climate

As a part of understanding how to best meet the needs at the Curley, we are requesting that all school staff complete a survey that includes a number of items specific to the behavioral health needs of students at our school. The survey results will only be shared with the school in the aggregate and individual responses will not be shared. The survey will take 7-10 minutes to complete. Transportation

We apologize for all the transportation issues this afternoon. We are working with transportation to assure they get worked out immediately. If there are students with transportation concerns please email the admin team and we will work to assure they get fixed ASAP.

Summer Reading

Students were asked to read this summer and mark each day they read on a calendar. Please collect these forms from students by Friday, September 11th. If students do not have anything to pass in they will not be penalized. More information will follow around next steps and recognizing these students.

Parking Lot

Last summer we had lines drawn in the parking lot to show the spaces for cars to park. Only staff with handicapped license plates should park in designated handicapped parking spots. Also, staff should NEVER block in other staff. If you arrive to school and the lot is full please find a street spot.

Heat

Thank you to all staff for working hard to assure that our students remained as cool and hydrated as possible. Tomorrow it will again hit temperatures in the 90s but it should cool down significantly as the week progresses. Please be sure to keep yourself hydrated and exit the building after school if the temperatures remain too high.
